The Centennial Museum & Chihuahua Desert Gardens Natural and Cultural History is currently featuring its newest exhibit titled "Bracero Memories -- Voices and Images of the Bracero Experience" at UTEP between January 24 and April 12.
The following is their description of the exhibit:
"Bracero Memories - Voices and Images of the Bracero Experience"
"This exhibit offers a unique view of the 1942 to 1964 government sponsored bracero program which brought Mexican workers to the United States. Their words and photographs clearly reveal that in their memories lives a far more complex history that must be told. By listening to the voices of the braceros, this exhibit seeks to recognize the historical significance of the bracero program and to acknowledge the importance of these workers in the United States, who unfortunately continue to remain invisible."
