"Nature also plays a different role in our practice of remembering. For example, we leave flowers and fruit for the dead, this is how we mark our tragedies. And events which haunt a family--the death of a young man in war, the death of a newborn child--are articulated in the home altar, and then sometimes in prayers, and always in storytelling.
